Join us Tuesdays or Saturdays from 10:30 - 11:00 am. Theme-based stories, songs, fingerplays, and lots of crayons, too! Ages 3-5; younger children welcome with an adult.
If you are between 18 and 36 months old, bring your favourite adult for 30 minutes of fingerplays, rhymes, songs, and stories. Mondays from 10:30am-11am & Thursdays from 6:30-7:00pm.
From beginner to expert, kids of all ages are invited to meet in the Teen Zone Saturdays at 2 pm to play chess.
HACKMATACK READING CLUB
Runs September through March. Explore, read and discuss books by Canadian authors nominated for the Hackmatack Children’s Choice Book Award, then vote for your favourites. Winners are announced and awards given out in the spring. Geared to children in grades 4 - 6.
BABIES IN THE LIBRARY
Finger plays, knee bounces, lap rhymes and books for babies make up this half hour program for newborns to 18 month olds and their caregivers. Promotes language development, an early love of reading and a love of play. Please call 643-7239 to find out when the next session is coming to your area so you can pre-register.
Children and their parents/caregivers can enjoy books and activity sheets based on a theme that changes weekly. Available any time the library is open.
*If you attend a library program and park in Market Square, ask library staff for a voucher for 1 hour of free parking.
